What Equipment We Use

Land Clearing Questions,
Clear Answers.

Do I need approval before clearing land in Auburn?

It depends on the work and address. Auburn says its tree ordinance covers public trees, and right-of-way tree work needs a Street Tree Permit. Development clearing and grading can still need City erosion-control and grading approvals. We check the actual parcel and scope; routine field mowing is a different task.

Which service should I choose?

Bush hogging cuts grass, weeds and light brush. Forestry mulching shreds suitable woody growth and leaves mulch. Land clearing removes agreed trees, with stump work and hauling where quoted. Tell us how you want to use the property and we can help you choose.

Can you keep selected oak and pine trees?

Yes. We mark retained trees before cutting and plan equipment routes around their roots. Grade changes, debris piles and equipment traffic can damage a tree even when the trunk stays. Clearing limits and the trees you want to keep belong in the plan.

What happens to the brush and debris?

Bush-hogging cuttings and forestry mulch normally stay on the property. For land clearing and tree removal, we agree on hauling, stump work and any material left on-site. Those details belong in your quote.

Will privet grow back after mulching?

It can. Chinese privet can sprout from roots and stumps left alive after cutting. Seeds can also arrive from nearby plants. We discuss follow-up maintenance; one mowing or mulching pass is not a promise of permanent control.

How long will the work take?

A light field cut may take a few hours. Dense brush, larger trees, stump work and hauling can take several days. Access, weather and ground conditions matter too. We give you a schedule after reviewing the property and the work.

Can you work on slopes or near creeks?

We inspect the slope, soil strength, drainage and equipment access first. Soft ground may mean waiting for drier conditions. Creeks, wetlands and protected areas can restrict access or require approvals. We define the workable area before equipment arrives.

Does grading make the lot ready to build?

Rough grading shapes the agreed area. A foundation pad may also need designed elevations, suitable fill, compaction testing and inspections. We spell out the work included so your builder knows what still needs to happen.

When does Alabama construction stormwater coverage apply?

ADEM generally requires coverage for construction disturbing one acre or more, smaller sites within a qualifying common development plan, and sites with certain water-quality risks. Exemptions depend on the activity. Local approvals are separate, and clearing for a future development should be checked before work begins.
